I’m deep in revisions of my 2nd novel, Laerka, in which a Savannah teenager rescues a stowaway from traffickers. In this tale, my local heroine discovers there are many quarters of her own home town where things are unsettlingly twisted. So I’m looking for ideas where others have found/discovered surprisingly corrupt, messed up, or weird subcultures. I’m very eager for even the twisted but nothing really brutal, thank you.
deranged dentists, mad barbers, weird morticians (we had an Atlanta story about a guy who “disposed” of folks’ loved ones in unmarked random places all over a property in Northern Gerogia), crazy chefs, etc.
Would love to consider your contributions….
